If you’re starting your career, looking for a change, or returning
to work, volunteering can help build your confidence, skills and experience. The British Heart Foundation will be opening the Wantage Furniture and Electrical Store on 16 July, and they need your help.
This store will sell a wide variety of good quality pre-owned furniture and home appliances, including:
- Sofas, suites and chairs
- Tables
- Beds
- Wardrobes
- TVs and Hi-Fi systems
- Washing machines
- Fridges
- Dishwashers.
Whether you’re looking for a modern item, an antique gem or something chic, this store is the ideal hunting ground.
Volunteering Opportunities
The British Heart Foundation has a variety of opportunities for anyone over 16 years of age to get involved with volunteering or Work Experience.
Volunteers can work for as little as 2-3 hours a week and whether you have a specific skill or just want to try something new, there’s something for everyone. You can learn more about the volunteering opportunities available here.
Nationally Recognised Qualifications
Whether you work or volunteer a few hours or are a full-time
member of the team, the British Heart Foundation may be able to offer you a Nationally Recognised Qualification.
There are a variety of courses available in retail, customer service, team leading and warehousing. In 2018, over 800 staff and volunteers gained vocational qualifications with support and encouragement from the charity.
