Is your business ready for the OVO Energy Women’s Tour?

Residents and businesses across the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts are gearing up to cheer on 100 professional riders as they race through Oxfordshire on 12 June.

With over 300,000 spectators watching the OVO Energy Women’s Tour in 2018, Oxfordshire is expecting economic benefits and additional business for restaurants, bars, hotels, B&Bs and shops.

In a comparable stage in last year’s race in Warwickshire, additional local expenditure linked directly to the event totalled £2m by around 100,000 spectators. Nearly 63% came from outside the county and 67% of spectators said they were inspired to cycle more often.

The race will be featured live on ITV4, with daily highlights shown every hour. Over 3.5 million social media users were reached during 2018’s race through a variety of platforms and huge press coverage meant that the event was featured in 79 newspapers. This year, along with SO Business, we are actively encouraging our local businesses to get involved in a number of ways.
