Small Business Saturday is back once again on 3 December. This is a fantastic opportunity to shop local and celebrate the small businesses in Abingdon, Wantage and Faringdon and we hope you will once again get involved, either as a business or customer.
If you’re a small business but not on the high street in one of the Vale market towns, there are plenty of ways you can get involved with this annual event. Start using the social media hashtag #smallbizsatuk to spread the word across all social media channels, your business will feature in the events taking place for Small Business Saturday helping to raise the profile of your business and SBS activities. Make sure when posting, sharing or tweeting you include the hashtag #smallbizsatuk or tag @SmallBizSatUk in your posts.
This year Wantage are asking for independent businesses to be nominated to receive ‘Best Business’ awards with the ceremony taking place Saturday 3 December. To nominate a favourite independent Wantage business go to the following link – http://www.wantageandgroveloyalty.co.uk
Stats show that for every £1 spent with a local, independent business, between 50p-70p circulates back into that local economy. Buying locally supports local traders and suppliers. Buying locally boosts the local economy, rebuilding confidence in the community, enabling local businesses to prosper and grow and in turn generates a vibrant town for future generations.
If you’d like to ‘pledge’ your support to the Small Business campaign click on the ‘Get Involved’ section of the Small Business Saturday website. The team have marketing packs available which include a poster and window sticker, or download the packs here Small Business Saturday 2016.
